Faculty is responsible for supplying course book and supply information to the textbook manager as requested. In Rhodes College, the bookstore suggests that students would better buy the books and materials for courses in advance in case of standing long line or out of the stock. However, if the textbooks used are temporarily out of stock, it is possible to obtain permission from the copyright owner or publisher to copy part of the text until the book arrives. It is the responsibility of the faculty member to request this permission. Besides, the bookstore believes that the sale of free copies of textbooks will lead to higher prices, deprive authors of their contributions and hinder the writing and publication of new works. As a result, Rhodes Bookstore doesn't purchase or sell textbooks labeled "free copies, not for resale".
