Florida SouthWestern State College

Overview

Florida southwest State College is a state college in Southwest Florida. The university, formerly known as Edison Junior College, enrolled the first batch of students in the autumn of 1962. The college is named after Thomas Edison, an inventor and industrialist who frequently wintered in Fort Myers. FSW offers 21 associate's degrees, 5 bachelor's degrees and 18 certificate courses, focusing on healthcare, business, technology and education. The college also enrolls more than 3500 dual students each year and offers non-credit continuing education courses. The university resumed sports in 2015 after being suspended in 1997. Its teams will again be known as "Buccaneers". And fans can display their love and support of the teams through wearing Buccaneers gear which can be obtained in FSW Bookstore.
